Lidl Polska has reached another significant milestone by opening its 1,000th store in Poland. The anniversary is accompanied by special promotions for customers, rewards for employees, and a continued commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and cooperation with more than 850 Polish suppliers.
Lidl Polska has reached another historic milestone in the Polish market. On 23 July, the company officially opens its 1,000th store in the country. The opening of this landmark location is not only proof of the retailer's dynamic growth and the trust of millions of customers, but also a celebration of the people who contribute to the company's success every day. To mark the occasion, Lidl Polska has prepared a range of special promotions and initiatives.
Lidl Thanks Its Customers
To celebrate the opening of its 1,000th store, Lidl Polska has prepared a special surprise for customers. Between 20 July and 14 August, customers can enjoy 1,000 products on promotion across Lidl stores and on lidl.pl. Each week's promotional products will be announced in stores and on the company's website.
A Shared Success
Behind every Lidl Polska success stands the dedication of thousands of #teamlidl employees. To thank them for their commitment, every employee—regardless of length of service—will receive PLN 1,000 through a special promotion in the Lidl Plus app.
"The opening of Lidl's 1,000th store in Poland is an exceptional moment in our company's history. This achievement would not have been possible without the trust of millions of Polish customers and the tremendous commitment of our entire #teamlidl. Behind every number are people, and it is our employees who deserve the greatest thanks," says Włodzimierz Wlaźlak, President of the Management Board of Lidl Polska.
Tradition Meets Modernity
The milestone store, located in Nikiszowiec, Katowice, was designed with great respect for the district's unique architectural heritage. The building blends into its historic surroundings while incorporating modern technologies and sustainable construction solutions.
"We are not slowing down. Construction of store number 1001 and the next locations is already underway. Our ambition is to become the leader in sustainable retail construction in Poland," says Marcin Stopa, Member of the Management Board responsible for Investments and Real Estate.
Sustainable Technologies
The new store incorporates numerous environmentally friendly solutions, including:
- heat pumps and heat recovery systems,
- refrigeration units using natural refrigerants,
- CO₂-controlled ventilation,
- a 50 kWp photovoltaic installation,
- electric vehicle charging stations.
These investments make the new Lidl store a symbol of sustainable retail development while respecting the character of its historic location.
Supporting Polish Suppliers
Supporting Polish agriculture and the food industry remains one of Lidl Polska's strategic priorities. The retailer currently cooperates with more than 850 Polish suppliers and offers nearly 400 products carrying the "Produkt Polski" (Polish Product) label.
In 2025, 386 Polish suppliers exported their products to 28 countries through Lidl's international network, reaching a record export value of over PLN 7.2 billion. Between 2018 and 2025, the cumulative value of Polish exports generated through Lidl exceeded PLN 39 billion.
Comfortable Shopping Experience
All Lidl Polska stores are designed to provide customers with a convenient shopping experience through spacious layouts, electronic shelf labels, self-checkout systems, priority checkouts for pregnant women and people with disabilities, and dedicated "Quiet Hours" for neurodivergent customers.
High Quality at Lidl Prices
Customers visiting the new store will find Lidl's wide assortment of fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery products, dairy, meat products, vegetarian options, cosmetics, clothing, and non-food items—all offered at the retailer's well-known competitive prices.
The role of modern retail, cooperation with Polish suppliers, and the future of the food industry will also be among the key topics discussed at POLAGRA 2026, where Lidl Polska is the Main Partner. Events such as POLAGRA create a platform that brings together food producers, retailers, and industry leaders to exchange knowledge, build business relationships, and shape the future of the food sector.
