Ethiopian business delegation to visit POLAGRA 2026
This year's POLAGRA will bring together representatives of the food industry from markets around the world. From 23 to 25 September 2026 in Poznań, the event will also welcome a business delegation from Ethiopia, whose participation is being coordinated by the Oromia Chamber of Sectoral Associations (OCSA)
Ahead of the visit to Poland, OCSA organised a dedicated orientation session for the entrepreneurs joining the delegation. The aim was to prepare Ethiopian business representatives to make the most of their participation in POLAGRA - from effectively presenting their companies and engaging with exhibitors and potential partners to identifying opportunities for cooperation and developing international business relations.
The session also covered practical aspects of the visit to Poland, including logistics, formal requirements and the preparation of the necessary documentation. Mengistu Weldemariam also took part in the meeting, sharing his international experience and practical guidance on building business relationships during trade fairs.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ethiopia has also played an important role in supporting the initiative. OCSA highlighted the support and involvement of H.E. Ilona Korchut, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ethiopia, in facilitating the delegation's participation.
The presence of Ethiopian entrepreneurs reflects the international character of this year's POLAGRA and the growing importance of African markets as new directions for cooperation within the food industry. It will provide an opportunity for direct business talks, a better understanding of mutual needs and the exploration of new areas for trade cooperation.
Africa Food & Trade Forum - connecting Poland with African markets
The Ethiopian delegation's presence will also form part of POLAGRA's broader focus on strengthening business relations with African markets. On 23 September, the Africa Food & Trade Forum will take place during the fair – a new event dedicated to developing cooperation between Polish food producers and partners from Africa.
The programme will include meetings and business discussions designed to provide insights into individual markets and facilitate direct contacts with their representatives. Particular attention will be given to product categories with strong export potential in African markets, including dairy products, meat and meat products, fruit and vegetables, as well as eggs and egg products.
The Forum will create a space to turn the growing interest in African markets into concrete business relationships and new opportunities for international trade cooperation.
