Efficient import handling has a direct impact on the competitiveness of the Polish food industry. For food products and raw materials used in food production, every extra day of waiting means not only additional logistics and storage costs, but also the risk of delivery delays or production disruptions.
One of the main challenges remains the fragmentation of border controls – a single shipment can pass through several inspection agencies, procedures, and IT systems. During the debate, experts will discuss how to shorten clearance times without compromising safety standards, including through the "one-stop" model, system integration, the "once-only" principle, and broader use of risk analysis.
The discussion will also cover customs and tax barriers, including VAT issues, customs and tax representation, and DDP deliveries. Participants will consider what changes can increase the competitiveness of Polish ports, streamline supply chains, and make goods bound for Poland cleared right here in Poland.
